4. Common IAQ Pollutants Every Homeowner Should Know About

As most of us spend 80-90% of our time inside home, the community needs to be aware on the Indoor Air Quality that can be a cause of concern to their health. The video contains information on the pollutants such as Volatile Organic compounds, Radon, Carbon Monoxide, etc., that contribute to unhealthy air quality and the measures to improve Indoor Air Quality like Good Ventilation, Preventive Maintenance and source control.

In this video, we try to present information about Colorectal Cancer and Colonoscopy – the medical examination for detection of the probable swollen/Irritated tissues, polyps or other changes in Large Intestine and Rectum that may lead to Colorectal Cancer. Our community members in-fact are not aware of this condition and hence awareness on its symptoms, prevention and risk factors will be very useful.

As the community members originated from the Refugee Camps, picking healthy foods was not in the menu. However, as we have resettled in a new environment where such facility is a possibility, we present this video on picking healthy food especially to the elderly people. We had seen our families crumble and destroyed in refugee camp as there was no awareness at all. Substance abuse is an essential topic for our resettled families thus preventing the youths from falling prey to this addiction.

Mental health is as important as our physical health. However, not much importance was given to it in early days. However, awareness program these days has gained momentum. We must make newly resettled families aware of this to prevent people to have good mental health. In this video, we will share the following information.

12. Life Style to be Healthy at all Ages

Introducing the meaning of Healthy Habits, we try to inform the community about the principle and practice to maintain healthy physique throughout our life. It includes activities on our lifestyle i.e. balance diet, Drinking Habits (water), Exercise, Healthy sleep schedule (6 hrs), Daily Routine, put an end to alcohol drinking habits, smoking and consuming products with tobacco, Meditation and psychologically involved too.

Child Abuse was a cause of concern till the recent past in the community especially when they were living in the refugee camp. Here we have tried to explain to our community about what is child abuse and its various forms like Physical Abuse, Sexual Abuse, Emotional Abuse and Child Neglect. We have also explained the various levels of protective measures like Individual, Family and Community Protective methods.

Dengue Fever most common and seasonal disease seen. So, we try to inform the community about its causes, symptoms and preventive measures. Not only that but it includes information on the factors involved directly or indirectly.

Asthma is one of the common illness that the community faces. Hence, we felt it important to make our community aware of it. Here, we are focusing on the its causes, symptoms, medications, vaccines, it’s preventive measures and managing the illness.
